Vakhtang Mchedlishvili is Special Counsel at Metric Law/Tax, which he joined in 2021. He brings a distinguished background spanning senior government service, judicial administration, and academic law.
Vakhtang Mchedlishvili has held several prominent positions in Georgia’s public sector, including Member of the High Council of Justice of Georgia, appointed by the president of Georgia (2014), Deputy Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection (2013), Head of the Bureau of the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia (2000–2003), and Assistant Secretary of the Council of Justice of Georgia (1997–1999). He also served as Head of the Reform Secretariat and Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Revenue of Georgia (1999–2020).
Vakhtang Mchedlishvili is an Assistant Professor at Ivane Javakhishvili State University (since 2007) and a Member of the Educational Council of the Georgian Bar Association (since 2018). He was admitted to the Georgian Bar Association in 2006.
His international academic experience includes an internship in private international law at Emory University, Atlanta (2007), a scientific internship at the Free University of Berlin under the Berlin Parliament Scholarship (2003–2004), and postgraduate studies at the Institute of State and Law of the Georgian Academy of Sciences (2000–2003).
He holds an LL.M. and LL.B. from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (1998 and 1996, respectively).
